SKILLS

From Caelen to Madame

Here is a video of myself doing my own makeup back stage for the musical, Beauty and the Beast. I played The Wardrobe aka Madame De La Grande Bouche at Saddle Brook High School in 2020. And here is the final product! As a singer and performer, doing my own makeup is very efficient. If the makeup team backstage is backed up, I could jump in to help or do my own to save everyone time.

Personal Yoga Flow

Yoga3.jpg

During the 2020 Quarantine I got really into yoga. I am self taught besides my research on Youtube, Pinterest, and Instagram. This is my easy daily yoga flow that I created for myself. It has many of my favorite poses in it, including a headstand. As a Performer, Yoga has helped me with my mobility and control which can be very useful on the stage. See the Gallery for more photos

Ode to My Dear Friend

By: Caelen Mahoney

My dear Charlotte Natalie Mahoney

We call you Charli

You are always there for me

As constant at the stars in the sky

Outside my door in the morning

And outside to say good night

My days are incomplete without an adventure with you

Our trips to Dunkin’ Donuts refresh my life

My eyes become brighter, my spirits lifted

You hold my coffee when I drive

When I sing sloppily to trashy music

You never judge

You crank up the tunes

And sing terribly along with me

Our shopping sprees bring me

dangerously close to Bankruptcy

“How do I look?” I would ask

You hold up a mirror for me

And carry my extra bags

But when my days seem to fall off a cliff

And my tears fall fluidly down my face

You wipe them away

And embrace me with open doors

When I am blue

You’re blue too

You keep me safe

You keep me going

and bring a piece of home with you

wherever we go

When our adventures for the day

Are solemnly put away

I pat you on the head

And tuck you into bed

My dear friend Charli

My wondrous,

2017,

Two door,

Light blue,

Mini Cooper.

Jack’s Shoes

By: Caelen Mahoney

Jack trudged groggily through his nice house, with his nice room, and his nice friend with the lights off. He didn’t usually spend so much time there, but recently he was constantly drawn to one room, sitting on the floor. He looked up at the ceiling with glowing stars stuck to it and imagined who was up there in the real night sky among the stars. He saw shapes in the patterns, a tossed ball, a big smile, and even a puppy dog! He sighed a long sigh pondering, implanting himself into those patterns, joyously playing with the ball and the puppy dog with a big smile on his face.

Something was calling out to him. A pit rose up from his stomach to his chest and throat and he instinctively lurched forward to find a small blanket to wrap himself in. He tossed his overgrown hair to the side and gazed fearfully at the closet. He didn’t dare go in there for he knew that if he opened it, something inside it would overwhelm him and drag him to a place where he could never return from. Cowering away from the doors, he covered his face and wept powerlessly.

Suddenly the lights flashed on and Jack’s wife was standing in the doorway. With worry in her tortured eyes, she crouched down beside a small pair of sneakers that their brain dead little boy would never get to wear. Closing them back into the closet, she knelt down beside Jack and took his pained, tear streaked face in her hands. “It is not your fault” she assured him for the thousandth time. Still in disbelief, Jack stood up with his wife, turned the lights back off and closed the door to the nice room in his nice house.
